Author Biography

Kristi Lynn Davis is the voice (and the legs) behind Long Legs and Tall Tales. Having logged in approximately 1,200 performances and 240,000 kicks as a Radio City Rockette, she learned what it's like to live life as a showgirl supreme.

But strutting her stuff for the world's most famous precision dance troupe was just the tip of the iceberg. She also traveled the globe with the steamy Playboy's Girls of Rock and Roll, sailed to exotic ports of call as a singer-dancer on luxurious cruise ships, and graced the stage with showbiz icons Susan Anton, Buddy Ebsen, Maurice Hines, Jack Jones, Paige O'Hara, Juliet Prowse, and Rip Taylor. She even shook her tail feathers for President Bill Clinton.

Kristi found her showbiz adventures so amusing and amazing, she simply had to share them. After 12 years performing professionally, she was bursting with behind-the-scenes secrets and shenanigans to spill. Plus, retiring broke her heart, and writing her memoir was highly therapeutic!

Kristi is also motivational speaker, entertainer, and Registered Drama Therapist. She thrives in the beautiful state of Michigan with her wacky, sexy husband and two spectacular children.

Long Legs and Tall Tales is an exciting memoir by Kristi Lynn Davis, a Midwestern girl who went on to perform with the legendary Radio City Rockettes. As far as she can remember, Kristi had always wanted to be a dancer and at the age of four, she had her first dancing lessons. Learning how to dance in the bowels of a dark, dingy dance studio and the Josie Grey’s School of Dance, her journey to become a member of Playboy’s Girls of Rock and Roll, performing with showbiz personalities like Susan Anton and Rip Taylor, has many twists and turns. When she finishes her Bachelor's in Psychology degree, Kristi does not know what to do with her life, but after a month long sojourn in Europe she realizes she cannot turn her back on dancing. So she flies to New York to reach for the stars and the rest, as they say, is dance history.

Kristi Lynn Davis’ Long Legs and Tall Tales: A Showgirl's Wacky, Sexy Journey to the Playboy Mansion and the Radio City Rockettes is one of those stories that tells us it is possible to fulfill our childhood dreams. As a young girl, Kristi dreams of becoming an accomplished dancer and she does not stop until she gets to where she wants to be. Her transformation from a naive country girl to becoming a sexy show dancer, and eventually dancing for the world famous Rockettes, is a story that is both amazing and inspiring. She travels around the world to perform and seems to live a glamorous life, but not everything that glitters is essentially gold and Long Legs and Tall Tales shows us the struggles, frustrations, and uncertainty behind that glamour. Surviving in the fickle entertainment world is not an easy feat, but Kristi not only survived, she thrived in it. Witty and at times funny, this is a book that will definitely make your day brighter.

A fast a lively read, A true story a must read for all seriously aspiring dancers. I enjoyed it a lot.
