Look! There Are No Dinos Inside of This Book by Jimmy Vee is a playful and imaginative adventure hinting that some extinct animals might still roam the earth, just out of sight. It begins with Dangerous Dave, a self-proclaimed dinosaur wrangler, who’s insistent that no prehistoric creatures could be creeping around, even though the audience suspects there are. With every turn of the page, readers must take a closer look for funny clues, while also laughing at how Dave refuses to see what is so blatantly right under his nose. From wacky tail sightings to mysterious roars, the book is a lively, interactive read without ever letting the truth about dinos slip out. This tale combines three things children always enjoy: dinosaurs, exploration, and being silly.
I genuinely adored reading Look! There Are No Dinos Inside Of This Book by Jimmy Vee. It’s delightfully mischievous and taps right into kids’ love of pointing out the obvious that adults seem to miss. The tone is light and teasing, making children feel like they’re in on the secret. As an educator, I think it’s perfect for any classroom since teachers like to have fun, and this read is beyond fun. It’s very engaging, and I could see it sparking discussions about favorite dinosaurs, other magical animals that might be real, or maybe even leading to sharing some dinosaur jokes. Mark Wilson’s illustrations bring even more energy and humor to the story with all the expressive details. This book will have little ones giggling in no time and leaving everyone wondering if dinosaurs have really vanished.
