Love And Other Company: Poetry About Love Loss Healing is a collection by Celia Sinclair, dedicated to the different men who were loved, no matter how briefly. The various themes speak of growth, heartache, and self-discovery through the different trials and disappointments faced in life. Reading Celia Sinclair’s poetry about love, loss, and healing put me in a wistful and longing mood. Love And Other Company burrowed deeply into my heart and evoked bittersweet feelings as I read through the different verses. Sinclair adds a distinctly personal touch to every written passage.
The raw emotions I felt as I read poems such as Deception and Crushed often brought tears to my eyes. Celia Sinclair’s transition from one feeling to another is smooth and skillful, and the despair gives way to anger and then inevitability. The stories woven through the poems are heart-wrenching but there was a ray of hope. Human emotions are chaotic and are fragile like glass and putting yourself back together can often cause more hurt. However, a person can learn more about themselves and become stronger through their experiences. This collection of poetry has an authentic tone and a nostalgic vibe. It allowed me to experience the happiness and pain of love and loss. Truly remarkable!
