Multi-genre author of Victorian maritime romance/family saga, Heiresses in Love, and 20 other books. Marie Lavender lives in the Midwest with her family and two cats. She has been writing for a little over twenty-five years. She has more works in progress than she can count on two hands. Since 2010, Marie has published 21 books in the genres of historical romance, contemporary romance, romantic suspense, paranormal romance, romantic comedy, dramatic fiction, fantasy, science fiction, mystery/thriller, literary fiction and poetry. When former cop Ethan moves to Oregon to forget his past, he encounters an enchanting woman dancing naked in the moonlight. The attraction is instant, even though Ethan and Wiccan Jessie couldn’t be more different. The only monsters Ethan believes in are the flesh and blood humans who commit unspeakable acts, yet despite his calm rational nature he is intrigued by Jessie. Marie Lavender’s Magick & Moonlight is truly adept at describing the instant attraction and chemistry simmering between the main characters. As much as Ethan wants to write Jessie off as a head case, his body won’t allow it. Unfortunately, Jessie has been taught to hide her true self, so her confession to Ethan must be somehow rectified and she decides to do it in the form of a love spell. Of course the spell works a little too well and Jessie finds herself quickly falling for Ethan.
Magick & Moonlight is a delightful love story that happens to feature a Wiccan. It doesn’t read like your typical paranormal tale; in fact at times it seems as though Wicca is the norm. The passion between Ethan and Jessie is off the charts and you just know that much passion has to spill over into life outside of the bedroom as well. Of course their relationship makes it out of the bedroom and Marie Lavender paints the perfect portrait of a couple falling in love so effectively it’s easy to forget that Ethan’s love is the product of witchcraft. When that spell morphs into real love, you’re left with a touching story of love, second chances, and living life out in the open.
