Mastering Airbnb: The Expert Guide To Maximizing Your Travel by Tony Santos is a guide for users of Airbnb who would like to get more for their money. Most people only do a simple search and go for one of the results on page one. While those are usually good choices because Airbnb ranks them high for a reason, they are often also the most expensive choices one can make. Many Airbnb users are not aware of the fact that they can save money by using just a few additional tactics (instead of just doing a normal search). And those tactics are the topic of this book.

I picked up Mastering Airbnb: The Expert Guide To Maximizing Your Travel by Tony Santos because I already am quite a savvy Airbnb user and have found plenty of good deals. I was hoping that the book would help me with becoming even better at finding deals. The title promised me there would be some secrets that only insiders know. The book is most great value for people who have no clue about how the internet and sites like Airbnb work. The tactics described to find the best deals are really just common sense if you have at least an average amount of intelligence. If you have ever used Airbnb and filtered search results via different parameters, then you already know a good deal.

You also get some additional information on how to haggle with hosts who have negative or no reviews yet and the author does supply helpful information and even sample emails to hosts in various chapters. I would recommend the book to people who are fairly new to Airbnb and who would like to know how to get the most out of it. Users who have already booked a few times would also get some helpful information from this book – but if you have been using Airbnb for a while and are sure that you always get the best deals you need, then you might just enjoy the confirmation that you are already doing everything right.
