Max Deepfake Revenge is a neo-noir thriller novel by Anthony Silman. Dan Rackham and Jo Hadge are now happily married after Jo's self-defense trial over the attack by drug dealer Sniff Taylor. Dan leads an international cyber security organization called Alliance, tasked with battling troll farms and cyber crimes from all over the planet. Max Golby is his right-hand man. But when a crime syndicate out of Chisinau, Moldova, becomes aware of the Alliance, Dan, Max, and their friends are in grave danger as a vicious woman named Daria, alongside a former alcoholic, is tasked with taking out the top Alliance members. An insidious plan has been set in motion to plant bombs in the Alliance building. Will Max and his friends be able to thwart the attack? Can they survive?
Fast-paced and filled to the brim with suspense and intrigue, Max Deepfake Revenge is an absorbing thriller that entertains from start to finish. Author Anthony Silman uses a large cast of characters, weaving an intricate plot that twists and turns its way to a climax that will have readers biting their nails. There are multiple factions at play, and Silman brings them all together with an engaging narrative featuring well-placed curveballs that always keep you on your toes. I really liked the characters of Dan, Jo, and Max, and felt Daria, Alex, and Gary made for some compelling antagonists. Silman's story also sheds light on the very relevant issue of cybercrime that has risen exponentially over the last few years. All in all, thriller readers will have a blast with this one.
