Merry Little Love Story in Reindeer Falls by Beth Labonte is the story of Michelle, also known as “Chelle”, who has returned to her hometown and is working as an activities coordinator at a local supported aged residence facility. Her quiet peaceful life is stirred up with the return of her childhood playmate, Ryan, and the proposed sale of the aged care facility. The story is set in a quaint town called Reindeer Falls where the businesses offer Christmas all year round for the consumer dollar. Aunt Dottie does some meddling, forcing Ryan and Chelle to spend time together, even when tensions arise between them. The path to true love is predictable, but charming, as Ryan and Chelle develop the self-awareness to take their childhood friendship to the next level.
Merry Little Love Story in Reindeer Falls by Beth Labonte is one of the most heartwarming seasonal stories I have read. Labonte creates drama, but it is served with humor, and the happy ending is always dangling just within reach. I enjoyed following the characters through all the steps while remaining confident there would be a satisfying romantic conclusion. Labonte painted a picture with lovable characters and a special setting that would make an excellent Christmas movie. If you can’t get enough of love and Christmas, I recommend Merry Little Love Story in Reindeer Falls as your next holiday read. In fact, I enjoyed it so much that I would read it any time of the year, just to spend some time in the happy little world Labonte creates.
