Breaking Free is the third book in Ruby Starr's Fighter's Passion book series. It's been three years since Dani Graves left the church and set out to fend for herself. Living in her old car, Dani is determined to chase her dream of becoming a professional kickboxer. She trains at the Liberty Jiu Jitsu gym to prepare for fights, while constantly having to deal with her living situation. Sometimes, she even struggles to make the weight for her fights. Meanwhile, she meets Ryan Thompson, a trained wrestler who wants nothing more than to offer Dani his protection. As Dani's trust in Ryan slowly builds, she develops feelings for him, and soon, Ryan becomes her very first boyfriend. But people from her past aren't willing to let Dani go just yet.
Part sports drama and part contemporary romance, Breaking Free is a captivating read you don't want to put down. Author Ruby Starr weaves an engrossing yarn of resilience and spicy romance that charms its way into your heart and leaves you wanting more. The plot is nicely paced and thoroughly absorbing. The love story between Dani and Ryan is one of the main highlights. I found both characters not only immensely likable but also very compelling. Dani and Ryan have excellent chemistry, and every single interaction between the two is entertaining. Packed with sexual tension, witty dialogue, and easygoing humor, the narrative is a joy to read. The story also features some thrilling moments toward the end, which raise the stakes of Dani and Ryan's relationship. Overall, it's a great novel for fans of contemporary romance.
