Danny is scared of dogs; he is scared of their size, and he is scared that they will attack. Danny never reaches out to stroke a dog's back, and so his parents ask Mozzi to come and help them. Mozzi approaches carefully and gently steps near Danny to let him look and see. They do it many times until slowly Danny is comfortable with Mozzi, and they become friends. Danny is never alone because his parents have adopted a puppy, and all his fear is gone. In the retirement home down the road, the grandparents all get together for their doggie break. The room is filled with joy during doggie time, and Mozzi is also there.
Mozzi Presents: My Friends Help People by Merav Gamliel Boschan, like the rest of the books in the series, has delightful rhymes that give positive messages to young readers. This collection is about overcoming fears, friendship, acceptance, and being optimistic. The verses are fun to read and they segue from one verse to the next one, keeping the continuity of the plot. The illustrations are lively, vivid, and they breathe life into the characters and the scenes. They also give clarity to the author's concept and messages. This collection of verses will delight all animals lovers, especially dog lovers, and I like the way the author has created human and animal characters that are capable of motivating and inspiring readers. The book and this series are definitely good to own at home and in school libraries because of the positive messages.
