Author Biography

My name is (Olutoyin) Toyin Sebastien Ajimati . I was born and raised in Canada (Ottawa to be exact). I have for years written poetry and other forms of writing sometimes on social media but most of it has been private. I have, after several years of contemplation, doubt, disappointments, and distractions put together two books of poetry, prose, and thoughts (with the help of professionals along the way) called Mumbles of A Soul and Whispers of A Soul which will be available in eBook, paperback, and hardcover format. This first book, Mumbles of A Soul will be released on July 11, 2022, followed by Whispers of a Soul on August 11,2022. I hope that you will enjoy the journey in both books on a variety of personal and social/human topics.

Mumbles of A Soul is a poetry collection by Toyin Sebastien Ajimati that delves into the various facets of life. A Blink of Reality speaks about the changing patterns of a person's life and how we should all strive for peace and joy instead of hatred, mistrust, and other self-destructive behavior. Are You That Type assesses the artificial nature of dysfunctional relationships where material vices are the sole priority. Blinded Stimulus notes the constant scrutiny of our lives in today's world, where it is becoming increasingly easy to be corrupted. Daunting Reality showcases the darker side of life where cruelty, misery, and poverty reside. Reality Forgotten gives you a glimpse into the mind of a drug addict. Rooted Perseverance is a call to the resilient spirit of humans, asking for people to live for something greater than themselves.

Toyin Sebastien Ajimati touches upon a wide variety of topics, themes, and subject matter in this enthralling collection of poems. Mumbles of A Soul is a poignant and moving collection that will give poetry lovers much to ponder on. The book contains some heavy topics such as racism, existentialism, addiction, trauma, and many more. However, Ajimati handles them with much-needed sensitivity and thoughtful analysis that keeps your eyes glued to his words. There is almost a hypnotic quality to the poems, and some verses stay in your mind long after you've finished reading them. I enjoyed them all, but something about Rooted Perseverance really connected with me. This work is a gem for any poetry lover.
