Murder at The Old Fox Inn by Rebecca Solomon is the story of Barbara and Trent’s unusual honeymoon. No sooner have they arrived at the Old Fox Inn, but they notice strange things. The large hands of one of the brothers that own the inn, the stuffed animals on the walls, and the vibes passing between Amy and her employer Michael. The owners have received a generous offer for the inn, but have divided opinions about whether to sell it. Someone is trying to frighten the residents and may also be planning a murder. There are twists and turns, and a reason to suspect almost everyone. Finally, the culprit is revealed, and all the threads are tied together. It is a good mystery, but, of course, I won’t name the villain, because that would spoil the carefully woven plot.
Murder at The Old Fox Inn by Rebecca Solomon has a flowing narrative style that is easy to read. I like the way the story works as a thriller and a cozy mystery. I enjoyed the flashbacks to the previous century and the supernatural overtones, which gave the tale just a bit of ghostliness. Murder at The Old Fox Inn kept me guessing right until the very last pages. Rebecca Solomon has planned and delivered an exciting story. I liked the balance between action and suspense. Using a honeymoon couple as the main characters was a stroke of genius that will intrigue the reader. If you are a fan of mystery stories in a country setting, you will certainly enjoy Murder at The Old Fox Inn by Rebecca Solomon.
