Murder in Peekskill by Glen C. Carrington is a murder mystery story. James Benjamin McThellan is a top senator in New York and his daughter has been murdered. Her body was found after the snow melted and so, when all else fails, they bring in Detective Lincoln to help them find out who killed her. There are a number of suspects; two school friends and another friend of Abigail’s, the son of a person believed to be a mafia boss. Abigail’s mother has reservations about whether she has been given the truth by the PI firm she used, and now Detective Lincoln must pick up where they left off. Can he find out who killed Abigail, and why?

Murder in Peekskill by Glen C. Carrington is a good read, a detailed murder mystery. The story line is consistent and well written with plenty going on to tempt the reader into staying with the story. Mr. Carrington has developed his characters well and I understand this is the third in the Detective Lincoln series – I have not read the previous ones and, although there were references to the cases in these books, I felt that sufficient information was included so that I didn’t feel lost. That said, as with any series, the books are probably best read in order. The author has developed his characters very well, to the point that they almost feel like friends or family and you can identify with them. The plot was interesting, it ran its course smoothly and without any dead ends. I can recommend this book to anyone who enjoys an easy to read murder mystery.
