Murphy’s Luck 2 is a funny, silly, unrealistic look into the life of Murphy Drummer. Murphy has been considered a jinx since childhood, not liked by anyone, causing disaster wherever he went until finally he is forced to never leave his house. But circumstances happen and events occur and Murphy is in the neighborhood bank as a robbery is taking place. His heroics catch the thieves and save lives and he is enlisted by the FBI for a mission of great importance. Murphy agrees, only on the condition that his payment will be a dog for his young daughter. While in Florida on his assignment, Murphy faces komodo dragons, encounters danger and so much more, but all is made safer because of his fast actions and his lucky rabbit's foot. It is told in a comical and unbelievable way. It is impossible to describe because this book must be read to really appreciate Murphy and his luck.
I was very quickly pulled into this story and found it absolutely impossible not to like Murphy, his loving wife, Joy, and all of the good and bad characters that cross his path. Benjamin Laskin has written Murphy’s Luck 2 as a standalone story, but I can’t wait to read Murphy’s Luck 1 and all of his other books. If you like adventure, excitement, comedy and just a fun light story, then this is a must-read. In my opinion, a TV series about Murphy and his adventures would make a show I would look forward to watching each and every week. Don’t pass up reading Murphy’s Luck 2; you will certainly not be disappointed.
