My Beach Adventure by Eric VanTuyl is the story of a little girl who goes to the beach with her mom and dad. She searched and searched for something she can touch or play with but couldn’t find anything that would be safe enough for her. She found a crab but didn’t want to get pinched by claws or buried in the sand that seemed way too mushy and wet for her to play with. What could she do that would be fun that wouldn’t get her soaked, muddy or pinched by a crab? Would mom or dad give her any ideas?

My Beach Adventure by Eric VanTuyl has a fast-paced plot that takes the young reader from place to place on the beach as the little girl searches for something fun to do. I love the well-developed characters and how they interact in the way any family on a beach trip would. The illustrations are bright and brilliant as they display the story in pictures and make it easy to follow for kids of all ages. My Beach Adventure is a quick, family-oriented story full of a little girl’s excitement at playing on the beach. I love how VanTuyl gave this story such wonderful detail in words so that even early readers can learn to read with it. I recommend this story to anyone with young children that enjoy reading and I hope to see plenty more short tales by VanTuyl in the future. The beach illustrations and the story are sure to hold any child’s attention but don’t forget to enjoy searching for the blue pail after the story is done!
