In My Corfu Love Story by Effrosyni Moschoudi, readers learn that Spyri has stepped away from her busy life in London to enjoy a relaxing holiday in Corfu. Spyri plans to spend a fortnight with her grandmother in her beloved village of Moraitika. As she walks through the tiny streets and greets the friendly residents, her mind wanders back to the summers she spent there growing up and she remembers her first love, Markos. As fate would have it, Spyri and Markos meet again in Moraitika twenty years later. For Spyri and Markos, spending time together again has transported them back to the passion of their youth and they fall in love all over again. Can they make their young love last this time?
My Corfu Love Story is an intimate but clean romance. Effrosyni Moschoudi paints a picturesque scene of a small village in Corfu, Greece, as she spent many summers there in the 1980s. I loved reading this novella as it was just long enough for a nice evening. I would love to go to Greece someday and Effrosyni’s novel has certainly put the island of Corfu on my bucket list. My Corfu Love Story is a beautiful tale of finding love and not giving up on it. Effrosyni also put in a hint of the supernatural to spice up the story. This novella is for anyone looking for a sweet romantic story surrounded by the sunshine and beautiful sea on a Greek island.
