We tend to remember firsts. Most people remember their first pet, first grade, car, etc. Samina Parkar shares the story of Noah’s first trip to the zoo in My First Trip to the Zoo (Kid's First Experiences). Samina starts this book with a coloring page. This activity immediately draws your child into the story. Preparations must be made. Noah gets a map of the zoo as they enter. It is his job to guide his family to see the different animals. He is so excited that it is hard to decide which animal to visit first. The big cats won, so the family heads to see the jaguars, lions, cheetahs, and other large cats. Elephants and other animals follow. The family also enjoys a nice picnic in the zoo.
What child does not enjoy animals? If your child is between three and six, they will love this book. Read My First Trip to the Zoo, by Samina Parkar, with and to your child. Enjoy discussing the various types of animals and what makes them unique. Help your child understand where the animals are from. Samina teaches about some of the habits of the different animals and shares interesting facts. The illustrations are attractive and will open the door to discussing the animals. Your children will want to read this book over and over again. Do giant pandas fight? What is an omnivore? What is the largest land animal? Samina answers these and other questions. As you enjoy this fun book, be sure to teach your child about our responsibility to take care of the earth and our environment so that these beautiful creatures can continue to live.
