Inside My Lady Witch and Other Wondrous Tales by R. Max Gibson, readers will not find the usual beloved fairy tales they are used to seeing. Instead, it’s an original collection of stories filled with magic, quests, and memorable characters. Each one stands on its own, but all of them have classic fairy tale elements and themes like courage, greed, and the consequences of the choices people make. Included are adventures like a young witch who finds herself mistaken for a princess, a lumberjack faced with a difficult choice, princesses who take care of magical gardens, and there’s even a story about a magical fruit tree, along with many other stories set once upon a time, far, far away. Which one will be your favorite?
Reading My Lady Witch and Other Wondrous Tales by R. Max Gibson was like having a front-row seat to a collection of fantastical tales filled with enchanting heroes and sinister villains. I would have loved to have read some of them when I was younger, but even as an adult, they held my attention. I liked how Gibson often took familiar fairy-tale elements and gave them an unexpected twist. The stories were fast-paced, but never felt rushed, giving me enough time to get to know the characters. Several of them have meaningful lessons on compassion, perseverance, and seeing people for who they are. The writing is clear, easy to understand, and creative. My favorite was definitely the one with the three princesses who had to make a garden for their mother. Readers who enjoy classic or new fairy tales, magical adventures, and books with timeless messages will want to pick up a copy today.
