Eight-year-old Cayden is in for an unexpected adventure, one that involves a younger person living with his family for an extended period of time. In Elizabeth Lizu’s My Little Cousin, it wasn’t easy at first, but Cayden learned to accept his little cousin moving into his home for several weeks. He realized the importance of God's love and His teachings, as well as how important it was to lead others to know God. Half his age, Aimee was full of energy and enthusiasm, frequently challenging Cayden to accept her presence even when he wanted to be alone, or do something special with his Dad, like practicing basketball.
Elizabeth Lizu’s early chapter book, My Little Cousin: Cayden’s Faith Adventures, is a Christian children's story about kindness, courage, and being a positive role model and inspiring others. This is an easy-to-read chapter book, suitable for middle-grade readers. The story is told mostly through dialogue, with descriptive narrative used sparingly, usually in short paragraphs, to advance the plot, set the stage, and describe the characters. This makes it easier for middle-grade readers to follow along. The plot unfolds smoothly, allowing readers to settle into the story, become acquainted with the characters, and learn important messages about faith and caring for others. Sketches and drawings are used to effectively add to the story development. The end of the book includes some interactive activities to strengthen the key points shared. This is a tender and heartwarming story.
