Author Biography

C.L. Hunter started writing poetry as a young girl. Her grandparents owned newspapers in Arkansas: the McCrory Leader and the Augusta Advocate. She’d send her poems to them. In return they’d print them in the weekly newspaper and send the clippings back to her. That started her love for writing.

She attended Arkansas State, studying business, but started a family early having three children. Hunter considers herself a Floridian, having lived in Saint Augustine since the age of seven. She loves the beach and hot, humid weather—the hotter the better. She is an avid gardener, loving every type of flower God created. You’ll find flowers in all her books. She also loves boating and anything that has to do with the water. When she’s not writing, she’s a design consultant for a custom homebuilder in Jacksonville, Florida.

Wow! Just, wow! That’s exactly what I thought when I finished reading My Soul Belongs to You, the second volume in the Soul Mates series by author C.L. Hunter. This story grabbed me from the very start and kept me obsessively reading until the wee hours of the night, all the way until the very end! Follow the story of Katlyn Reynolds, a successful advertising executive who is haunted by the decision she made to place a daughter up for adoption when she was sixteen years old, as she lives her life as a fiercely independent, 'love them and leave them' type of woman. But when she meets handsome Irishman Deacon O’Mallery, her previous determination to remain on her own starts to waver. Will he be able to change her mind? You’ll need to read this awesome tale to find out.

I so enjoyed My Soul Belongs to You. Author C.L. Hunter has done a great job in creating characters that her readers will relate to, connect with, and will truly come to care about. If that isn’t a hallmark of a great author, I’m not sure what is. And talk about a sizzling story…this is definitely that! The fireworks between Katlyn and Deacon are sure to keep you hot and bothered, and hopeful that they will end up together in the end. Any reader who loves a sexy romance story should absolutely read this book. I am so pleased to be able to highly recommend My Soul Belongs to You, and I look forward to reading more from author C.L. Hunter as soon as I am able to do so!

My Soul Belongs to You by C.L. Hunter is another beautiful entry in the Soul Mates series, a great story of love that will undoubtedly appeal to fans of romance. Readers are introduced to two powerful characters, Katlyn and Deacon, both professionals in their own right. While Katlyn has lost faith in true love and lives with an unnamed longing, she’s built a wall around her to protect her fragility. On the other hand, Deacon is a man who was abandoned in childhood by his mother, an attractive man with a charm that disarms women in unfathomable ways. When the two meet, a fire ignites that will transform their lives and set them on a journey towards self-discovery and healing.

This is a romance that isn’t just about the attraction. C.L. Hunter leads readers into the very soul of the characters, letting them touch and feel their darkness, their fears and uncertainties, and then surprising them with the light that emanates from the humanity of these characters. The plot is well-woven and the story is told with elegance and style. The first person narrative makes the read irresistible and it feels like the narrators, who are the characters themselves, are talking straight to the reader’s heart. This style allows the reader to get a powerful grasp of the psychological conflicts the characters are going through. I didn’t read the first book in this series, but I am quite sure it’s the next book I am going for. The writing is so well-accomplished that it leaves the reader wanting more, utterly satisfied and loving the characters. My Soul Belongs to You is a satisfying read. A very enjoyable romance from a gifted writer.

My Soul Belongs to You is the second installment in C.L. Hunter's Soul Mates Series. Kate and Deacon live worlds apart. One lives in Ireland and the other in the United States. Whenever they are in close proximity to each other, one thing is certain: they want each other badly. But there are things that keep Kate from having a real relationship with Deacon. Deacon, when he's not daydreaming about Kate, continues his search for his mother, a woman he never knew. When Kate pays a visit to Ireland, two things happen. One, Kate helps Deacon in the search for his mother. Two, an angel warns Deacon that Kate is in danger. Meanwhile, Kate's own extended search for the daughter she never knew continues.

While the author teases us at first with a possible hot scene involving Kate and Deacon, there is a lot going on in this book for a reader to be primarily concerned with that. Perhaps one could say that this second installment is written with the main intent of getting a few mental hurdles out of Kate and Deacon's way before they can finally enjoy being a couple. Kate is especially put to the test as she pushes herself to her limits when it comes to sexual pleasures. Something awful has happened to her as a teenager; the time has come for her to battle her demons. With a slight dab of the supernatural, Hunter gives us hot moments coupled with two people pitted against inner turmoil.

My Soul Belongs to You, Soul Mates, Volume Two by C.L. Hunter is a modern day romance that begins with Kate traveling to Ireland, after she and Deacon split up. She was going to visit her friends, Emmalyn, and Nolan, at their castle. Kate doesn't want Deacon to know that she is in the same country. Deacon had just spent a drug induced night with his long time friend, Nessa. By the time he wakes up, it is in the afternoon so he exits as fast as he can. After the two talk at the office, Nessa hands him a note that she received last night from an American man that instructed him to stay in Ireland, and to stay away from Katlyn, or else it would not end well for him. After he gets himself tested for STDs, he goes home. While what he believes is daydreaming, he is visited by his guardian angels, Thomas and Calista, who cleanse him of the drugs and warn him that he is in danger. They tell Deacon that all he has to do is ask for them, and they would be there for him. Rebelling at what the note implied, Deacon decides to visit his friend, Nolan, at the castle before catching a flight to America.

C.L. Hunter does a splendid job of entwining the plot of this international romance between Deacon and Katlyn. she has created wonderfully developed characters that jump off the page. The two main characters have a couple of things in common between them, one being adopted and the other giving up a first child up for adoption. Add in that they both are usually 'love them and leave them' types. When it comes to each other, outside and divine influences are intent on playing a role in the outcome. Ms. Hunter is able to convey the passion that builds up between Kate and Deacon so that time and time again, just when you think it couldn't get any hotter, something unforeseen douses the flames. My Soul Belongs to You is full of 'edge of your seat' surprises, lustful desire, and some very tastefully written romance. What more could you ask for? Brava!

My Soul Belongs to You by C.L. Hunter is a tantalizing romance with solid characters, a compelling plot, and a great conflict. Katlyn Reynolds has had a history of loss and deep hurt in her teenage years, including a daughter she had to give up for adoption. She is the kind of woman whom experience has taught to not trust any man. Her life becomes her business and she is best at it, succeeding in creating a flourishing advertising business. But the protective wall around her breaks down when she meets Deacon O’Mallery, an Irish boy abandoned by his mother, but now a successful executive in one of the largest Intel companies in Europe. The attraction between the two is magnetic. Will Deacon find in Katlyn the love of a mother who abandoned him or can Katlyn still discover in this irresistible man the freedom of love?

The writing is excellent. Magnetic. Absorbing. C.L. Hunter casts a spell on readers with the very first words of the novel and manages to keep it alive throughout the story. The voice is clear, irresistible, and she writes with awesome confidence. Listen to these lines as they capture the loneliness of the protagonist, introducing one of the conflicts in the story: “I sat alone in the corner of the British pub in Hilton, thinking it was the closest I’d feel to Deacon for a long time. This was the last place we were together in public. I felt a tear, but I sucked it up. Big girls don’t cry. I laughed at myself. That was the title of the other song that played around in my head regularly these days.”

My Soul Belongs to You scores successfully on different levels. The plot, though not so complex, is fraught with surprises. It is steady and well-paced. Readers will love the characters, who are well-developed, and they will enjoy the metamorphoses taking place in them. I loved this book. Loved it so much that it hurt having to turn the last page.

Ramblings From Beneath the Sheets

This is the second book in the Soul Mate series. I read this book back to back with the first release. Although these books are standalones I was really happy to read them right after each other. The two characters in this book you do meet in the first however not reading them in order will not hinder your enjoyment.

Deacon and Kate -- another romance across the countryside. Deacon is successful -- Kate is sassy and confident. Both are a catch but both have a past. Kate has a past that defines her confidence although she is successful and doesn't allow her to trust much anyone. Deacon has no issues attracting women and isn't fond of keeping a relationship on his calendar.

During a video conference these two see something in the other they like. However small moments cannot pave the way over the rough heart and ideas that lie in Kate's head. Rocky roads make it almost seem impossible to continue trying and with Deacon's life being threatened along the way it seems as if nothing is going to work to try and shine light on either of them.

I really loved the "interventions" that came into play in order to give Deacon and Kate hope. Again this was not my normal read but I loved the way the characters were written and my heart was hurt over their hardships. Click this release up as well as the previous. It's well worth your time. Thank you for the chance to read -- Amy

Crossroad Reviews

Man when you read this one make sure you are READY! This is a fast paced story of fantasy, angels, romance, and erotica all wrapped into an amazing story that I couldn’t put down. I really loved book one and this one was even better! It will touch both your heart and soul and you won’t be able to let it go until the last page.

This author did a wonderful job with Katlyn and Deacon! I loved the weaving the author did and it worked out perfectly.
The two had a ton of great chemistry and the intro of the angels was even better. This was a wonderful story that will leave you with the feels! And it will leave you wanting to know more! I can’t wait for book three!

Katlyn Reynolds gave up a daughter for adoption at the tender age of 16 and has since developed a very successful advertisement company while refusing to get close to anyone to protect her heart from further hurt. Then she meets Deacon O'Mallery - a sexy Irish businessman who has put being an orphan with nothing to become second in command of a large intel company. On meeting her he realises Katlyn is his soul-mate and after hearing her story he realises he wants to find his birth mother. Katlyn on the other hand is confused - she feels comfortable enough to share her past but insists he find someone else for a future. Deacon tries desperately to find his birth mother while fighting to make Katlyn realise she has to become his - thankfully he has the spirits Thomas and Calista to help him.

This was a lovely story interwoven into a lot of Irish folklore. The agonies that both Katlyn and Deacon were going through were covered quite substantially and I felt that was a little too much as I started to find it boring. However I did enjoy the story and I did like the plot of the story. The writing was clear and easy to understand and feel.

My Soul Belongs to You by CL Hunter is a true love story about what it really means to love someone completely and unselfishly. It is full of twists and turns and surprises. This book is part of a series, the second book - the first being Your Soul was made for Mine. It is a fast moving read, never boring and it is easy to get attached to the characters. My Soul Belongs to You has a uniqueness to the plot and is a very good read. Sometimes it is a little steamy, but still realistic and not vulgar. Recommended reading for romance lovers.

My Soul Belongs to You is the second book in the Soul Mates series by C.L. Hunter. While it can be read as a stand-alone, I felt I would’ve had a deeper understanding of the characters had I started with book one. :)

The story was a bit slow but I enjoyed the mystery! I thought the characters were well-developed and the connection between Deacon and Kate felt real. Now I’m going to go back to book one and see how it all began.

My Soul Belongs to you is the sequel to Your soul was made for mine by C.L Hunter. It is the 2nd book of the Soul Mates Series.

I received a copy from the author in turn for my honest review.

I Highly suggest you read the first book before this as there are several references to the previous book even though this book focuses on another couple.

5/5

In the second book in the Soul Mate series, the cross-continental frolics continue with Kate and Deacon. Drama blends with desire and an off-the-charts plot, creating the heavyweight champion of page-turners in this sensual romance.

My soul belongs to you is an impressive book. The characters are expertly written and developed throughout the book - it's not hard to imagine them as real people as real as you and me.

Having read and reviewed the first book of the series I already knew Deacon & Kate to some degree. However, their characters have developed a lot through this story - I personally believe Kate was an almost entirely different person by the end. Of course, I only say almost because come on it's Kate she's not one to back down without a challenge.

Be prepared for a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I personally feel this story wasn't as traditionally 'romantic' as the last. that, however, doesn't mean it wasn't worth reading - in fact, this story was blazing with heated passion, drama and 'action' from start to finish.

I don't know if this was intentional but I believe that the way this story is written reflects the personalities of Deacon and Kate and as they develop so does the atmosphere i.e. as the written becomes a little more romantic so do they. I love how this contrasts to the first book where it was like an amazing mosh pit of dreamy romance because that's who Emmalyn and Noel are they are a Dreamy Romantic mosh pit.

I 100% recommend not only this book but this series to any true romantmaniac like myself. It's full of magic, culture, heart-stopping relationships! ( and if that's not enough for you the 18+ scenes are greatly written and are honestly true 18+ XD )

After reading the first book in this series, I could not wait to read Book 2 in the Soul Mate series. I wasn't disappointed. Love, loss, steamy passion...it's all here. A must read for romance lovers.

This second book in the "Soul Mate Series" revolves around a couple from the previous novel.

Deacon is single. He lives in Ireland where he is part of a successful and renowned business. He has had his fair share of playing the field without commitments.

Kate is a confident business woman who has confidence and trust issues in her personal life. As a result of childhood and teenage traumas, she has to be in control of all aspects of her life.

Kate and Deacon met via a video conference and have been smitten with each other since. They had a brief encounter at their friends' wedding but decided not to take things any further despite the obvious attraction.

Kate pays a visit to her friends in Ireland without Deacon's knowledge. Inadvertently, they come face to face which forces them to address some of their apprehensions about long term relationships. They are both tortured souls who have been through a lot of pain in the past. Deacon is quite prepared to take a chance whilst Kate doesn't think that she is "worthy" after everything that's happened to her.

Kate eventually decides to have a go at a relationship with Deacon and when it looks like it might just work out, they face one obstacle after another. Deacon's life is being threatened. The lights that are shed on their pasts bring some shocking and impossible news. Is this relationship doomed?

This novel has a paranormal twist with angelic interventions. The locations are descriptive enough to give the reader a realistic picture without interfering with the flow of the story. This could be a matter of preference! The romance is very poignant. Friends' loyalty and support are very well portrayed. The sex scenes are very graphic. The storyline is very well developed and full of suspense and surprises.

This would appeal to those who like erotic novels with palpable emotions and endless twists.

This book was absolutely riveting! Twists and turns all throughout that kept you on edge until the end!!! Suspense, mystery and beautiful romance combined into one! I can't wait for the 3rd book!

I loved Author C. L. Hunter’s first book in her Soul Mates series and was equally thrilled by this second one, My Soul Belongs to You. It centered on two characters from the first book: Katlyn Reynolds, a successful businesswoman from South Carolina, and Deacon O’Mallery, a top CEO from Dublin.

Sparks erupted from their first contact, but Katlyn and Deacon each had a history of betrayal and abuse that had led them to avoid love and commitment. Could true love set them free? Suspense and drama unfolded as people from their past chased after them threatening to unravel their hard won emotional equilibrium, not to mention, jeopardize their lives.

Hunter’s exquisite writing pulled me in from the start. She has an amazing gift for storytelling that grabs you and doesn’t let go. Her great strength as a writer is her ability to draw the reader into the emotions of her characters. I loved the lush descriptions and use of foreign places, the Irish culture and language that was spot on perfect, never over done, nor making me lose the thread of the drama and love story. Hunter placed me into each scene, so that I could feel, taste, smell and see the sights as they unfolded to the characters, whether in romantic Paris or the raw fisherman’s warehouse, befitting the mind of a deranged man bent on destroying Katlyn and Deacon.

The dialogue was witty and smart with a charming use of song lyrics for innuendo and subtle context, fleshing out characters as well as the evolving love affair. As with her first book, Hunter skillfully combined drama, suspense, mystical fantasy, romance and erotica. Yet, the overarching theme was love and commitment. It was a beautiful love story!

I am a big C. L. Hunter fan and highly recommend this book.
