At twelve-years-old, Precious Hawk is viciously taken from her people, and her family.

At seventeen,  she was forced to marry John Altan , a well know  rancher who was also very mean and uncaring, and made  Precious Hawk out  as a wild savage that needed taming.

Now, at thirty-seven-years-old and forced to live in the white world, she had such inner turmoil.  She remembers back how they raided her village, murdered her mother, and never did she see her family again.

When a perfect stranger, Cloud Feather arrives at the ranch as a new ranch hand, Precious Hawk starts to have dreams. She knows now that Cloud Feather is her way out of the situation she is in. Cloud Feather, also having dreams, knows Precious Hawk is to be rescued and returned to her family tribe and  land,  where she belongs

As they escape, follow along as they nearly get caught.  Bob, a former  ranch hand who had become friends with  Cloud Feather, helps  them  elude the ranch owner and his hands, who will stop at nothing to kill Cloud Feather and bring back Precious Hawk once again to the ranch, where he is bound to teach her that she  belongs to him and no one else.

This is an amazing story of Precious Hawk’s faith-- both in Cloud Feather and in her Native Dreams that are leading her home to where she belongs. Precious Hawk knows the evilness of John Altan, and knows that Cloud Feather and herself will never be free--until he is dead.

Will Precious Hawk be reunited with her family?  Will she and Cloud Feather have a life together?

This was a very interesting read. Taught me things about the Native American people, their love for people and familiy bonds. Plus the exceptional connection they have with the wild life. Once I got started I did not want to put it down and now am anxiously awaiting the sequel. Much luck to you Melinda on your new adventure and thank you for sharing all of your obvious talent with many.
