Navigating Life's Journey: Common Sense in Uncommon Times by Richard V. Battle is a solid, inspirational guide to managing your life. This book comes at just the right time--when life seems uncertain for some, the future unclear. Which path do you take? How do you tackle the problems that come your way through no fault of your own? Can you find happiness in the face of chaos? Battle lays out a plan for your life. Not based on random theory, but on solid experience by those that have lived, persevered, and found a way through the tangles of life. Whether it's the loss of a job, the loss of a loved one, or dealing with a pandemic, this author offers simple, common-sense ideas, using anecdotes, quotations (75 of them to be exact) by people who have faced and conquered bad times, and encouragement to follow your dreams, no matter what. Some of the topics he discusses are timing, anxiety, getting fired, choosing your feelings, and much more.
Though this book is sometimes serious, it does take an objective, hopeful view of things, and urges readers to do the same. Battle's writing is direct and personal, coming across as someone confiding to you life's secrets that have been in front of you all along--they just need someone to point them out and tell you that you too can get through whatever it is you're going through. The author offers more than one solution. How about 40 easy principles? If one doesn't seem to fit, then put your attention on another, or even several at a time. The book as a whole is a feel-good motivational tool you can refer to again and again. The 250 powerful examples he uses will lift your spirits and give you fuel to be re-energized to tackle your life in a new, fresh way. And to feed the soul, there are verses from the Bible. Navigating Life's Journey: Common Sense in Uncommon Times by Richard V. Battle is a well-rounded approach to living life to its fullest, and a resource for those feeling sidetracked by unexpected life events.
