It follows the story of the Notorious Nose Nabbler, a creature so strange and with no nose of its own. He is obsessed with children’s noses, and likes them in all shapes and sizes, but no one thought he was real. Two little girls, Ophelia and Astrid, never believed in the existence of the Nabbler and never took any safety measures to protect themselves from the creature. However, one day while they were sleeping over at their Uncle Nick and Uncle Nate’s place, the Nabbler nabbled Ophelia's and Astrid’s noses. Luckily, the girls had Nate and Nick, who decided to chase down the Nabbler to return the stolen noses. Join them on their adventure across Canada, following the scent of smelly noses and using gadgets to try to catch the Nabbler.
Nick and Nate vs. The Notorious Nose Nabbler isn’t just some wild tale about a creature swiping kids’ noses. It’s an adventure that takes you right across Canada, teaching you about famous landmarks along the way. Children will meet quirky characters, like tall uncles with intriguing personalities, and also learn the importance of listening to warnings. James Seamone uses language that children can relate to and has highlighted important words that they can learn to use in their vocabulary. The book shows locations like Nova Scotia, Niagara Falls, Parliament Hill, and many more. The Notorious Nose Nabbler is a one-of-a-kind character, and the whole idea behind the book is refreshingly original. The illustrations by Ian Etheridge jump off the pages. They are colorful and lively, and they really make each town in the story feel real. It’s a fantastic pick for anyone curious about Canadian landmarks or looking for a story that reminds kids about staying safe, without ever feeling like a lecture.
