OMG...Am I A Witch?! by Talia Aikens-Nuñez is a cute story about April Appleton. April is so annoyed with her older brother that she wishes to turn him into a dog. She gets a spell from the internet and the spell works. April realizes that she has a lot more powers than she thought. Now she has to make him normal before her parents find out. She gets help from her friends, Eve and Grace, and tries to reverse the spell. Now will April be able to reverse the spell before her parents find out?
The book begins with the transformation of Austin to a dog. The story is silly and entertaining for kids. You feel that the characters are genuine and April's behavior is something all young girls can relate to. I found the part where Austin is growling and April petting him hilarious. The adventure is just what girls would love to do to their brothers when they are annoyed. The story is full of fantasy and it is also whimsical. Grace and Eve also have important roles in the story. Trying to get Austin back to normal is funny and weird. That will make readers giggle.
On the whole, it's a whimsical story filled with loads of fun and crankiness. It is the sort of story every child will enjoy because of the magic and adventure. The author keeps up the suspense of what would happen to Austin right to the end, making readers curious and excited.
