One Falls Down by Jay Matthew Korn is a mystical novel written in memoir style by the lead character, Moon Friedman. It tells the story of a group of unique friends who blend as a team. Moon and his buddies find themselves in a situation where one of their close friends has died in what is presumed a devastating misfortune. When Moon is visited by the ghosts of two old friends, whose spirit forms he can see, he finds himself investigating events that took place forty years ago. A prostitute, a savvy businesswoman, Russian gangsters, and money laundering are the main components of a murder that was staged to look like an accident. In the mix are a homeless man and a Jewish saint, who rose from the dead to possess the drifter’s soul for the good of the world.

One Falls Down is a steady-paced, evolving novel that explores a supernatural scenario in solving a murder disguised as a tragic accident. A clever plot slowly builds to a surprising, well-thought-out finale. With vivid descriptions, Jay Matthew Korn brings each of his well-defined yet authentic characters to life. There are intermittent digressions, in this distinctive narrative, but the details are rich and intriguing, illustrating the author's ability to draw you into the story. One Falls Down perfectly combines mysticism, drama, death, suspense, and strong character development, making for an engrossing read. This novel will appeal to fans of murder mysteries with surprising twists and a touch of magic.
