Open Doors: The Truth About Happiness & Success is a look into the tools and components of self-help. By reading it, you gain a true understanding of how to move yourself forward and the tools that you can utilize to do so. Author Stephen Griffiths separates the book into three main sections: Baby Steps, Our Story, and Our Happiness. The three branches work together to form a foundation of change that is built on motivation, introspective questioning, and a plan for the future. Stephen's personal experiences as an entrepreneur and simple human being guide the text, and help the reader get an in-depth perspective on why certain things work while other things don't. I enjoyed the deeply personal writing style that was used. You are literally talking one-on-one with Stephen, seeing what he saw, feeling what he felt, and then growing your own experience through what he has already done.
Open Doors: The Truth About Happiness & Success might not be the most riveting or shocking book you could read, but its honesty and earnest nature wins out, making it a very compelling read. This isn't some sort of quick fix to a failing business or some sort of secret inside information. Instead, Griffiths provides readers with a truly quantifiable means to finding a way to build lasting change in their lives to move forward towards happiness. While this is a self-help book, it is also a personal narrative. It's one man's journey being used to help others.
