Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches From Outer Space! by I. S. Noah is a '21st Century Fairy Tale.' It’s 2019 and an alternate reality. Violet Wilson is babysitting her brothers and takes them into the forest with Pamela Edison, her best friend; how were they to know the boys would stumble on something strange in a cave – a flying saucer! And how could Violet have known that one of the boys would eat a sandwich he found inside the saucer? That sandwich is the start of something wild and wacky, an adventure none of them could ever have predicted – not even the President of America!

Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches From Outer Space! by I. S. Noah is a wonderfully humorous tale. It may be aimed at the YA market, but adults will find this book amusing, too, especially with some of the political satire. This is an action-packed yarn written engagingly, a fun story that will hook you from the start and have you rolling on the floor with laughter. Noah has a clever way with words and knows how to write a compelling story with well-developed characters and a combination of mystery, action, and comedy. This is the kind of story to get the imagination going and the style of writing helps you feel as though you are watching the events unfold. With its witty, clever dialog, this is one of the most enjoyable YA stories I’ve ever read, and I highly recommend it to anyone, regardless of age, who wants to lose themselves in a fantastical story.

Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches from Outer Space by I. S. Noah depicts the story of four children (Violet, her two brothers, and her best friend) who go on an adventurous hike and discover a spaceship hidden in the forest. When six-year-old Willys decides to eat the PB&J sandwich inside the ship, no one can predict the unexpected twist of events that happen from that point. As it turns out, the spaceship is inhabited by Goobexes. These alien beings are giant PB&J sandwiches that tower over ten feet tall. The children believe that Willys ate a Goobex baby. What will the siblings do? Will it cause any side effects on poor Willys? How will the Goobexes react to this startling news? Most importantly, why have the Goobexes come to Earth?

I. S. Noah knows how to write a captivating tale filled with humor and adventure. I chuckled at the heartfelt dialogue between Mr. Wilson and his wife while the family watched the televised broadcast of the military's first encounter with the aliens. This tale is an amusing read for children and adults who are young at heart. Even the political intrigue (such as the president's tweeting habits) brought a grin to my face. This story is parallel to our modern-day American experiences. I.S. Noah inoffensively humorizes current social and political events in a way that is easy for all readers, regardless of age, to understand. The siblings and their friends are very likable and relatable characters. Their perseverance and loyalty help them confront the obstacles in their way. Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches from Outer Space will take readers on an imaginative and outlandish trip. The conclusion is worth the journey. If you love YA fiction packed with adventure and suspense, don't miss this exciting tale.
