Pickle Me This, Squeakle Me That, Who is Afraid of the Big Brave Hen? by Joseph Lupton is a fun and adventurous tale that follows Joseph as he transforms into three amazing heroes: Chicken Man, Pickle Man, and the Rat of Justice. Each of these characters has unique challenges to tackle, including hilarious villains like the Tickling Tormentor and the brainy Dr. Doomrat. Set in imaginative and often silly worlds, Joseph and his superhero alter egos use clever strategies and playful battles to save the day from outrageous threats. This delightful book is filled with themes of friendship and bravery, showing how teamwork can unite even the most unexpected heroes. It’s a joyful read that will make you smile. It’s clear that young readers will not only be entertained but will also enjoy seeing the heroes tackle challenges that reflect the importance of standing up for what’s right.

I found the book to be a charming and delightful read. The plot kept me engaged with its fast pace and unpredictable twists, creating a world where even the most humorous, oddball villains pose real challenges. Joseph Lupton’s multiple heroic personas bring a fun, layered dynamic to the narrative, and each character’s unique qualities add depth to their problem-solving approaches. The writing style is fun and easy to read, mixing exciting action with just the right dash of humor that makes it enjoyable. Both kids and the grown-ups reading along will also enjoy it. It's a cheerful adventure that celebrates bravery, friendship, and creativity, and I believe young readers will absolutely love the blend of laughs and heroics. I also like the cover illustration done by Robbi Pearcey.
