Plip Plap Plop by Ibk Akin is a great little introduction to what looks to be a fun series of books. When Zach's crazy Uncle Fazo passes, he leaves some of his best inventions to Zach under one condition. He and his best friend Miranda have to use them! Uncle Fazo even leaves an instruction manual and a companion robot to help along the way. Despite everyone thinking of him as the crazy uncle, his inventions are worthy of admiration. The adventures begin almost immediately when the two kids discover the Plip-Plap-Plop ball in the pile. When they take a closer look, they are transported to another place and possibly another time. It seems the Plip-Plap-Plop ball is not just a great invention, it's a whole new wondrous set of adventures for the kids. They accidentally stumble through the first "mission," not knowing the importance of what they have discovered. They quickly set off on the next with the help of their companion robot who begins to explain the importance of words and what they are there to accomplish. Let's just say a few new players are introduced, including an enemy bent on stopping the kids.

Overall, a very good story that has a fun way of teaching the importance of learning words and language. Zach and Miranda are both great characters and the two of them work perfectly as an adventurous duo. The excitement is ramped up with the introduction of their purpose, its importance, and the fact that someone doesn't want them to complete their missions. I think kids will really enjoy this story and, like me, won't be able to wait to see what's next. Where will the next mission send them? Will the evil ones be there to try to stop them? What is the next invention that Uncle Fazo left for them to discover? I'm looking forward to finding out.
