A serial killer is on the loose in and around Washington DC, and Alton Blackwell and his wife Mallory, as consultants for the NSA and FBI, are called in to help with the investigation. For each of the first few murders, the killer manipulates some form of technology. Alton’s experience in this field is why he’s involved. They’ve teamed up with retired and reluctant criminal profiler Decimus Farr to solve the mystery. What is the killer’s motive, and what is the strange symbol that is being carved into each victim’s chest? Most importantly, can they solve it in time before more people are killed? Rage by Steven F. Freeman is an edge-of-your-seat thriller that you won’t be able to put down.
Rage is book 13 of the Blackwell Files Series. Once again, as a master storyteller, Steven F. Freeman introduces a different type of crime for his protagonists to investigate—serial killing. In this story, connecting the victims is the Blackwell Team’s most difficult challenge and the readers’ most enjoyable. There are plenty of suspects and a few red herrings. In classic whodunnit fashion, it’s almost the end when the killer is revealed, and I’m sure every reader will be as shocked as I was. I got so engrossed in the story that I had to find out the answer and stayed up well into the night to finish the book and I’m so glad I did. It feels like every book in the series is even better than the one before it; I’m very excited about number 14. Fans of thrillers, especially about serial killers, will love this as much as I did.
