Author Kevin Hirons has a natural talent for suspense on full display on every page, and he delivers a fast-paced and action-packed sci-fi adventure with a gripping plot that never lets go. I enjoyed the character development of agent Kaldar Vaul as the close narration centered on him shows a complex and relatable protagonist with a weight on his shoulders. It’s thrilling to see his varied skills put to the test in the tech-filled, war-torn world he has to navigate. The world-building is rich and imaginative to flesh this out as he explores it all, creating a vivid and immersive galactic setting. Add to this the element of mystery and the well-plotted threads of political intrigue that make up the slow-burning thriller plot, and there’s plenty of suspense to keep readers on edge, right to the satisfying but surprising conclusion. Overall, Rebellion's End is a highly recommended read for fans of thrilling sci-fi with great depth, and I can’t wait to see what comes next.

Kevin Hirons’ Rebellion's End opens with a captivating premise, instantly pulling readers into the narrative. It is suspenseful and features strong elements of propulsive science fiction. The plot is stunningly imagined and expertly executed. Readers will enjoy the escapades of characters like Denara Frost and Kaldar Vaul and their struggles against rogue forces and the enigmatic Selenis military. The primary conflict centers around retrieving a stolen artifact that has dangerous power, ultimately entangling them in a high-stakes game of drama and deceit. The vividly drawn characters, the rich worldbuilding, and the exquisite writing make this book unique. Vaul is a genuinely flawed character, and Denara is resourceful. The setting of the Antastran realm and its stark contrast against the tumultuous Selenis home world of Sedoth enrich the story as the characters navigate breathtaking landscapes and dangerous debris fields. Hirons has a flair for creating tension-filled scenes. I was utterly captivated as I followed the characters in this imaginative science fiction novel.
