Lately, Lee Butler, a tabloid writer and ghost hunter for hire, has been having weird dreams about two women from his past and his hometown of Wheelen Creek, Texas. The two women, both his love interests, had been the reason he had left that place, vowing never to return. When he encounters a psychic witch, Madame Bishop, through one of his clients, he learns that he must return to his hometown because it is part of his destiny and the only way to end the dreams. Near Wheelen Creek is a ghost town called Langston, haunted by the ghosts of a historic family known as the Benders. People have been going missing for decades in Langston and its environs, and it has everything to do with the Benders and a curse. Butler is the only one who can break the curse and end the darkness in Langston. Is he ready for the task ahead and the secrets awaiting him? Find out in Riding with a DEADMAN by John M Langley.

If you are looking for a supernatural novel laced with horror, psychological thrills, a splash of drama and action, and suspense, Riding with a DEADMAN by John M Langley is a worthy pick. Langley unfolds the storyline at a deliberate pace. As I followed Butler on his quest, I gained insight into the troubles of his shattered world, which included deep heartbreak, betrayal, and a sense of failure. Despite moving away from Katherine, the woman who never loved him back and caused him immense emotional pain, Butler is still haunted by the scars from the relationship. From the intensity of Butler’s emotional struggle, Langley shows the damage a manipulative relationship can cause one and how difficult it is to break free from such a bond. The story emphasizes an obvious but often overlooked truth about relationships, that actions speak louder than words. If one truly loves you, you will not have to keep guessing where you stand with them. This is the second installment in Langley’s DEADMAN Series.
