In Ripples: A Memoir of Reflection, Diana LeGere looks back at some of her past nostalgic memories, drawing inspiration from them while revealing empowering life lessons. The book is both a memoir and a devotional guide written from a Christian’s perspective on life issues. It focuses on uplifting messages and perspectives that counter events in our lives that could or have already derailed us. This includes the wrong mindsets that continuously weigh on us. The work encourages through its important messages: that it is never too late to forgive, to trust God or to live the life that God desires for us. Other themes in the book include having the courage to step out of the familiar, giving God control, deriving lessons from mistakes and experiences in general as well as being slow to judge.
Ripples: A Memoir of Reflection by Diana LeGere is written in a friendly tone. The author reveals her own misjudgments and mistakes and shows an understanding of fallibility. This helped me connect with the messages in the work and look back at my own past to find learning points and let go of negative mentalities. Delightful stories told with a touch of humor dot the pages and they are followed by enlivening scriptures. Reflectional questions and prayers are also included at the end of each section. They make the insight in the book actionable. Ripples: A Memoir of Reflection by Diana LeGere encourages us to live a less stressful and more meaningful life by inviting God into our lives.
