Rise of The Iron Eagle (The Iron Eagle Series Book 1) by Roy A. Teel Jr. is a gripping crime fiction that is both brutal and hard hitting, and will keep readers glued to the very end. Homicide Detective Jim O' Brian and Steve Hoffman, an FBI Profiler Special Agent, are looking for a serial killer. Both of them have been trained to detect, but they realize that time is slowly ticking by. Iron Eagle, the protagonist of the story, is someone who believes in an 'eye for an eye' and is ruthless in his killings. He roams the streets of Los Angeles searching for his daily victim, whom he kills in a grotesque manner. As Jim O' Brian and Steve Hoffman get more details and information about the serial killer, they realize that he might be one of them.
The portrayal of the serial killer Iron Eagle is done with a lot of dexterity that makes readers feel the cruelty and brutality in his killings. The other characters in the story are also sketched well, making them real and relatable to readers. The narration is descriptive and spine-chillingly honest. The author is expressive and all the heroes in the story are those we see in our daily lives, unlike 'larger-than-life' heroes. The story leaves readers gasping with its horror, killings and crime. The scenes are raw and riveting, and the plot is fast paced. This is a must-read for all those who like crime fiction.
