Roodi To The Rescue is a children's book written by Lacey Gordon and illustrated by Stacy Brevard-Mays. Roodi is a large rooster who is very protective of the chickens and ducks in his yard. He watches over them and makes sure no harm comes to them. When a dark shadow passes over the yard, Roodi is ready and alert. The shadow is cast by a predator that would love nothing more than to take off with one of Roodi’s chickens or his duck friends. What kind of predator is trying to get to the chickens and ducks? Will this predator succeed? Will Roodi be able to protect his friends from the predator, or will he lose one of his dear friends?
I loved Roodi To The Rescue! This story will keep kids entertained from beginning to end as they read about Roodi the rooster as he watches over his yard. The characters are fun animals with unique personalities of their own that coincide with the typical behavior of these specific farmyard animals. The illustrations by Stacy Brevard-Mays are beautiful and keep the story flowing. The images are fun and complement the story well. I recommend this story by Lacey Gordon to young children who are learning to read on their own and enjoy stories about animals and the fun things they do. I also love the way this story will encourage kids to protect their friends, and I hope this author writes more stories like this one soon.
