Cute, cute, cute! Rose and Her Amazing Nose by Andrew W. Fairchild follows a little girl, Rose, who has a gigantic nose, in this children's book intended for kindergarten through third grade reading. Instead of feeling sorry for herself or being upset about her grand sized nose, Rose explains how her nose fits her perfectly. She is a positive and upbeat little girl who says she would miss her big nose if she didn't have it because then her glasses might fall off her face, she couldn't pretend it was a trumpet, she couldn't smell roses as easily, and several more wonderful reasons.

The illustrations are over sized, just like Rose's nose, which makes it a perfect complement to this book. So much color and detail is used in the fabulous illustrations by George A. Raggett that they drew my attention immediately and should also entice a child to read and enjoy the book as well. Every time I look at the pictures, I notice something new and I like the fact that he put Rose's cat in many of the drawings.

Kids get teased about so many things these days, so Rose and her Amazing Nose by Andrew W. Fairchild is a breath of fresh air telling readers about a young girl who is happy with herself just as she is. Rose tells us at the end, "I do not want a different nose no matter how big it may be. This is simply who I am and what makes me . . . ME!"

Rose and her Amazing Nose is an awesome book for kids of all ages. I read it to my 8 year old and 3 year old and a message was delivered to botb of them. Children need books like this from Andrew because it helps build confidence and character which many kids are lacking today. His boom is something that will never get old and I have it in my classroom library. The pictures were amazing and he made being different seem cool. If kids knew and appreciated how cool their differences were the world would have a much better shot at the future as far as self esteem.

I really enjoyed sharing this book with my students. We followed up with some great conversation. I like the way Fairchild flipped negative things kids might say and made them positive through Rose. The story is told in such a fun, carefree way but with a very serious message. It is so important for kids (and adults) to have a strong self image, like Rose. So glad I also got a copy for my daughter that is an Elementary Education major too.

We looooooove Rose and her amazing nose. My daughter loves it I read almost every night at bedtime. I truly love the message in the story that you should love yourself no matter what. No one is perfect we should embrace what others may see as our flaws and I so love that. We can't wait for the next book.

My daughter was going through some issues and this book was perfect in so many ways. Rose is so cool and she's not afraid as my daughter said, she learned to cope with what she had and overcame it. The author is wonderful in providing just the right element to capture my 6 year old's attention. Perfect read for even an adult.

Reading Rose and her Amazing Nose by Andrew Fairchild to elementary school students, help teachers reduce teasing problems between peers; teasing that can derive to bullying, a great way to teach acceptance and tolerance to young kids. Graciously complemented with the drawings of George Raggett, recomended for classroom activities or home leisure time.

I absolutely love this author's work. This is the second book that I have purchased for my granddaughter, and she absolutely loves them. She is in kindergarten who reads and understands third grade level. She loves the characters along with the beautiful illustrations. The messages are exactly what we all need in today's world! Thank you Andrew for helping my granddaughter learn to make a difference.
