Luna Kayne brings us a riveting paranormal fantasy in Sanctum. When Lily accidentally stumbles into the Underworld at the age of six instead of her place of flowers, a lost prophecy is awakened that could change everything. That night was also the night both her parents were killed. She needed a protector then and there he was. Twenty years later, with her best friend Finley always by her side, the pieces of the prophecy start falling into place. A war is on the horizon and Lily will have to fight alongside an archdemon and an archangel to save a god. Can Lily become who she needs to be to save everyone? Or will her fate overwhelm her?

Author Luna Kayne has created a world beyond what we perceive and accept as true and makes it strangely possible. In this Primordial Lands Novel, the characters are described in a way that makes them likable and relatable. And who can go wrong with a strong female protagonist like the one in Sanctum? The pace is set from the beginning to the end, keeping you entranced and unable to stop reading. The plot is a masterpiece of fiction that will open your mind to the possibilities of fantasy. Sensory stimulation is evident in the immersive descriptions. Sanctum is recommended for more mature readers due to its sexual content. I also loved how different myths and beliefs were woven together to create a story of refuge and fate and I look forward to more from this author.

Sanctum by Luna Kayne is an epic urban fantasy that offers readers elements of prophecy, celestial warfare, and unexpected destiny. The story centers on Lily, an ordinary young woman who discovers she holds the key to an ancient prophecy that could determine the fate of both the Celestial Lands and the Underworld. Thrust into a cosmic battle alongside an unlikely pair, a sworn enemy archangel and archdemon, Lily must navigate supernatural politics, powerful forces, and her own awakening powers. This rich narrative explores the delicate balance between light and darkness, duty and desire, as Lily grapples with her pivotal role in a conflict that threatens to unravel the very fabric of multiple realms, including the domain of a god.

Author Luna Kayne creates an astonishingly immersive supernatural world that had me completely enthralled from the first page. The whole novel is packed with cinematically immersive descriptions and detailed worldbuilding. The intricate dynamics between the archangel and the archdemon create an electric tension that drives the story forward. Masterful character development brings Lily's transformation from ordinary mortal to prophesied hero to vivid life through bold dialogue choices and close, emotive narration. What especially moved me was how Kayne balances epic celestial battles with intimate moments of personal discovery, creating a narrative that feels both grand and deeply personal at the same time. I found myself completely invested in the complex relationships and moral dilemmas faced by each character as they navigated their roles in this cosmic conflict, and the different story threads came together with fantastic pacing for maximum impact. Overall, Sanctum is a must-read for fantasy lovers seeking a fresh take on the eternal battle between good and evil, and I would not hesitate to recommend it.

Sanctum by Luna Kayne unfolds in a richly crafted world where the boundaries between realms blur, intertwining dark fantasy with psychological depth. The story follows Lily, who, marked by a traumatic past, discovers she’s bound to Asmodeus, a demon who both protects and haunts her. This connection drives the narrative, pulling Lily into supernatural confrontations that reveal her hidden powers and challenge her understanding of self and destiny. Kayne’s world-building is complex, with vivid depictions of the Underworld and a mortal realm filled with eerie portents and ancient powers. This dark atmosphere amplifies the stakes as Lily navigates layers of fear, desire, and self-discovery. The interwoven realms are haunting, metaphorizing Lily’s inner conflicts and growth.

Sanctum often shifts between perspectives and consists of metaphors and symbols that add complexity. While these elements enrich the narrative, readers need to pay close attention to details to grasp the connections between characters and realms. However, Luna Kayne balances the complexity well, making the supernatural elements accessible and central to each character’s development. The pacing is sometimes slow, giving readers space to fully absorb the scenes. Some intense and unsettling scenes involve demons and violent encounters, but Kayne handles these carefully, grounding them in the characters' emotional journeys rather than graphic detail. The storytelling is evocative and suspenseful, inviting readers to explore the boundaries of fear and loyalty within a fantastical and dangerous universe. Fans of complex, character-driven dark fantasy with supernatural romance and a psychological dimension won’t want to miss this book.

Sometimes life is highway to hell and sometimes it’s a stairway to heaven. And sometimes your life is the key to saving them both. Lily didn’t know what she was setting in motion when she stepped into the depths of hell and held the hand of an archdemon at the tender age of six. Now, twenty years later, Lily must bring together not only the archdemon but an archangel in an effort to save both their worlds. Dive into Luna Kayne’s tale, Sanctum, which sees Lily battle the Celestial Lands and the Underworld all while fighting the pull of her heart.

Sanctum balances a wonderful level of spice with the intricate plot of an epic fantasy. The use of spice is brilliantly done and I love that it creates an enticing story without repetition. The plot is held up by an incredibly created world. This detail brings the story together and drew me in. While I loved the story, it was Luna Kayne’s characters that captured my heart. The dark, sultry, and caring archdemon, Asmodeus, is placed in beautiful contrast to the angelic, righteous, and wicked archangel, Michael. Their character development along with their relationship with Lily is intriguing and had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. The surrounding characters are beautifully fleshed out with in-depth backstories that give them meaning and I fell in love with all of them. I cannot wait to see what happens in Luna Kayne’s next book.

Sanctum, Luna Kayne's first installment of the Primordial Lands series, delivers a gripping tale that merges elements of urban fantasy, paranormal, horror, and an exploration of identity set against the backdrop of a richly imagined world teeming with demons and celestials. The story follows Lily, a young woman who has recently lost her parents and struggles with a past shrouded in mystery and trauma. Following a devastating attack by hellhounds on an ill-fated camping trip with her friend Finley, Lily finds herself embroiled in a conflict that unveils her latent powers and lineage tied to the archangel Samael. As she goes through the chaos brought on by demons seeking her for her unique abilities, she is linked with Asmodeus, an archdemon struggling with his identity and quest for redemption. Lily is at the center of a phenomenal conflict, with powerful entities vying for her powers. Can she save both worlds and stop a devastating war?

Lily is a multifaceted character, solid and intelligent, struggling to unravel the mystery of her past. Asmodeus's dual identity as both a protector and a fearsome demon creates complexity in his character. The supporting cast, including Finley, who demonstrates loyalty and determination, deepens the conflict. Samael, considered above Archangel Michael in rank, is superbly written, and his connection to Lily’s lineage creates an atmosphere of intrigue, mystery, and suspense. The brilliant introduction of the amulet adds to the mystery and intrigue. Transitioning from the desolate wilderness to the claustrophobic confines of a burning bar symbolizes the characters' struggles and transformation. The clash between realms—mortal, demonic, and celestial—creates a vivid setting in which the personal and the epic converge. Sanctum triumphs as an engaging exploration of a young woman discovering her powers, the burden of her heritage, and the complex relationships that form amidst the chaos of a world that blurs the lines between good and evil. Luna Kayne's deft use of the first-person narrative voice creates a sense of urgency in unfolding events. The beautiful prose and the complex characters make this an enchanting read.
