Satisfy My Sol by Scott Kelsey has a rare grace I greatly appreciate. To put into words the impending fear of death, the mysteries and moments of life, the inevitable parting is not easy for most people. This collection of poetry expresses all the beauty and sorrow with a melancholy elegance that reveals the soul. The author breaks into the silence of longing and the aching of regret, digging into such emotions with honesty and hope. He digs into depression and the seeming futility of life with a poetic magnificence that conveys light and appreciation to both. His words bring hope into the dark corners and express what one can’t always speak of. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to express what they cannot find the words for.

Satisfy My Sol by Scott Kelsey is a poetic exploration into life’s smallest moments and greatest pain. Each poem creates a visual image of those thoughts most of us find hard to feel, let alone express. I particularly liked ‘A Slow Walk… Alone’. It struck a personal chord with me and put into words the emotion I sometimes feel when I think of my father, who passed a few years ago. This collection of poetry ranges from romantic longing to terrifying reality. With each one, the author helps to release the soul’s passion and bring greater understanding to existence. The poems are tender and raw like a chilling autumn wind playing through the falling leaves. An enchanting read.
