It kept my focus until the very last moment. The finale was a significant shock. I did not anticipate this huge twist, nor was I prepared for it. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am still in disbelief over what transpired at the end.

While Willow is more calculated in her approach to the problems facing her, Laci follows her heart even if it lands her in trouble. I loved the dynamic between the two and found it to be the main anchor of the narrative. There's also a shocking reveal toward the end that I did not see coming. A good suspense novel always brings out a palpable sense of tension and intrigue, and this book does it in spades. Recommended to crime, mystery, and thriller enthusiasts!

The evocative and cinematic depictions colorfully brought the scenes to life on the pages. It felt like I was in every scene next to the cast, watching the action unfold. The subtle tone of the storyline had me on the edge of my seat. The sharp, intense, and urgent conversations allowed me to connect with the dynamic cast and gave depth to their conflicts, complex traits, and intricate emotions. This is a stand-alone read and an incredible second installment. I loved it.
