Single by Design, Book Two in the Love Hurts series by Roseanne Beck is a blend of love, humor, and family. Sara, a single mom, moves back home and next door to her brother, so her son would have a positive role model. Sara had no clue the house came complete with a ghost. A ghost that reads minds and offers advice. She had no clue that her brother’s friends would all be so hot and just when she had sworn off men in her life. One of these friends happens to be the author of one of her son’s favorite books. Her father is in a nursing home with dementia. She hasn’t seen him in years. Should she? And should she involve her son in the family disagreements? Will Sara, the ghost, the author and her dad work things out? A great ending ties all the threads together.
Roseanne Beck’s romantic comedy in Single by Design is a tender love story. Told with great chapter hooks and amazing chapter endings, the reader will have a hard time putting this book down. In addition, the humor is laugh out loud funny. Wait until you read the scene with the light saber. You will miss the characters once you’ve finished the book and will be wanting more. In addition, the identity of the author who hires Sara to design artwork will keep you guessing who it is. All in all, a great read and I highly recommend it to fans of romance, paranormal plots, and family stories.
