Siren Song by Kaitlin Bevis revolves around a woman and her story. "There is no uncertainty in my steps as I stride to the shore as the surf strikes mercilessly against the sand," and so Siren Song starts with the main character's narration. She is at the beach and in this first part of Kaitlin Bevis' novel, the woman feels her surroundings and reminisces about her past. Her thoughts go back to a time when she was much younger and in love. She was on the same shore, enjoying moments with the man who promised her the sea. Then she reminisces about getting married to that same man. The narrator's thoughts are happy as she continues to think about her first few years with him, until events became darker and more painful. By the end of her story, she looks out to the vast waters. The woman remembers how her husband described these waters and how people really felt about it. Finally, she takes steps and heads out in a certain direction.

Kaitlin Bevis is such a good writer for being able to write a wonderful story. I read the novel in one sitting and enjoyed every minute of it. Siren Song is as clear as a sunny day, given that the words used were vivid and just perfect. These same words also tugged at my emotions. I felt how the main character felt going through her life and having to reach the point where she is now. It was as if I was her or I was there close to her. Reading the story was such a moving experience and I definitely can say that it is worth everybody's time.
