The crew of Flight 1945 is unique; Captain CJ Brewster-Yardley took flying seriously. She was a seasoned pilot, famous for making a success water landing in the Bermuda Triangle without any fatalities. It was rumored that she was cursed. Flight Attendant GiGi was having hot flashes. First Officer James Lawrence was the sarcastic emergency pilot. Danny McSweeney seemed to be the most sane employee on board.

The passengers were an even odder lot. An FBI agent was transporting a criminal to Amsterdam.  Jake was retuning 5 diamonds to a grandmother he had never met. Percy had a plan to steal the diamonds. Anna Sue Givens had a companion pot bellied pig named Chucky with her. Rounding out the passenger list is Hank Hazard, former Clown turned airline “Secret Shopper.” Danny summed it up well when he said “Mix in the pig and we’ve got a Leslie Nielsen movie.” In the midst of danger and chaos, Hank’s faith stayed strong and true. His steadfastness assists other passengers to stay semi-calm.

This is the first book I have read by veteran writer Ruth Gutteridge. I am not sure how she escaped my notice. I will definitely be watching for more of her books. Gutteridge offers an electrifying, hilarious read. Anyone that can come up with just the right formula of humor, faith, and action has to be a special person and a talented author. She had me from the opening-- two obituaries, a family of clowns, and a birthday party, and an airplane ride.  What a combination! The descriptions of the characters bring them to life. I could see Chucky, Lucy, and all the other charming characters. Hank, Chucky, and CJ were my favorite characters. Who would not love Hank? He was calm in midst of a storm. I cannot say enough good about this entertaining read. Get your copy own copy; I’m going to reread mine.
