"Soo Thankful: A Book of Thankfulness," written by Dryade Fontenelle and Paul Schlarman, is a perfect book to teach young children the importance of being thankful each and every day in our everyday life. It is such a cheerful book that children will want to identify in their own lives what they are thankful for! Each page is something different that the character is thankful for and it is written in rhyme. Each page also has a vibrant illustration to go along with the text. Some of the things that the little girl is thankful for is her breakfast each morning, her lawn to play on, butterflies to catch, mom and dad with whom she has adventures with, and laughing with her friends about a joke.
This is such a fun book to share with children as it is filled with cheerful illustrations and a fun rhyming text to read. The style that the book is written in is a good way for children to learn to appreciate the things around them and be thankful for them, instead of feeling as though it is a chore or a list that they have to create when someone asks what they are thankful for. The items shared in this book are everyday moments and events of a child's life; therefore the children reading the book will be able to easily identify with the character and be able to recognize other things in their lives that they are thankful for as well. A great book to share with children especially at this time of the year, but really a great reminder throughout the year as well.
