He has developed this book primarily as a guide for his daughter so that she may experience sexual satisfaction when she begins to enter into relationships. Soul Shattering Sex: What All Women Deserve and How They Can Achieve It...Every Time is a non-fiction self-help book written by J. William Laundre. In his introduction, the author shares his philosophy that enjoyable and fulfilling sex is something that both men and women have a right to, and his aim is to show how both men and women can adapt their behavior and expectations to make this a reality. He doesn't present diagrams or pictures of body parts, as this is not in the realm of his topic. What he does is to broach the subject of what nearly all women hope for in a sexual encounter and all too frequently don't achieve -- an orgasm. Laundre discusses the fact that while men and women may get aroused as quickly, women may take longer to actually reach the orgasmic state than their male partners. Which can mean, in many cases, their sexual encounter leaves them frustrated and unfulfilled.
J. William Laundre's non-fiction self-help book, Soul Shattering Sex: What All Women Deserve and How They Can Achieve It...Every Time, is directed at both genders: it's a straight-talking guide for men who may not get it yet or are confused when their lovers aren't interested in having more frequent sex, as well as a wake-up call to women who have been culturally conditioned to believe that their sexuality is of lesser importance than their partner's. Some of what Laundre expounds seems like common sense, but dispelling cultural norms and expectations sometimes requires discussions about what makes sense and what doesn't -- like expecting a partner you treat shabbily to appreciate the shoddy treatment and look forward to more of the same. Likewise, his no-nonsense discussions on hygiene, birth control and how to detect jerks may seem simplistic, but are really much, much more.
I was quite surprised by and impressed with Soul Shattering Sex. It's exactly the kind of book I would want to give a teen of either gender, a book with a philosophy that values caring, respect and equality and shows how those ideals fit squarely into the equation for mind-blowing sex. There's no moralizing or putting women on pedestals or similar repressive tactics designed to make women fear their sexuality -- just the opposite in fact, and it’s all presented in a well-written, conversational format. Soul Shattering Sex is highly recommended.
