Southwest of Love and Murder by Brenda Whiteside will grab your attention from the very beginning. Intense suspense and heart pounding moments are with you from the first few lines. Whiteside's main character, Phoebe, not only knows murder from a fictional author's perspective, but she soon begins to be surrounded by real life murders. As this is a romance suspense novel, the romance is not something you will have to wait for. Instead, Phoebe enters into a romantic adventure with a sexy cowboy. But, will she be a suspect in the murders? Will her handsome lover, with secrets in his past, become a suspect? Not only will their uncertain romantic relationship be in danger, but will Phoebe's life, in one way or another, be in danger?
From the moment I started reading Brenda Whiteside's Southwest of Love and Murder, I did not want to put it down. I anxiously turned page after page to dive deeper into the multiple mysteries embedded in the story. I could hardly wait to discover Phoebe's lover's secrets. But even more, I wanted to learn just who Whiteside created that had such an insane obsession with Phoebe. Was it possibly an early character in the story that seemed obvious or would Whiteside throw an extraordinary twist into the plot? I absolutely love the way Whiteside has interwoven a sexy romance together with a murder suspense story in Southwest of Love and Murder.
