SafePassage: Book Four -- Cyber Plague is a sci-fi adventure novel by Clark Rich Burbidge. A seventeen-year-old young Native American hunter named Tocho stumbles upon a mysterious bright artifact that, upon touching it, soon transports him through space and time to an unknown future. In the present, twin sisters Callie and Courtney receive mysterious visions due to their proximity to the Star of Passage. When Tocho meets the twins, they realize that he possesses the Star of Hope. After Mike Gonzalez joins the little group, they embark on a dangerous journey into the future that may decide the fate of the human race. With the Trackers on their trail, the Travelers must traverse a dystopian future where cartels and gangs wreak havoc, while self-aware machines and a biotech plague have pushed humanity to the brink of extinction.
If you're a fan of time travel stories about saving the world, I can't recommend SafePassage: Cyber Plague enough. Author Clark Rich Burbidge's novel perfectly showcases how every action has direct consequences on future events and the dangers of reliance on unrestrained growth of technology. The plot moves at a blistering pace, taking unexpected twists and turns you never see coming. You find yourself on the edge of your seat, guessing what's going to happen next. The characters are primarily used as tools to move the plot forward. Still, I enjoyed the dynamic between the Travelers, especially, Tocho, Courtney, Callie, and Mike. I recommend SafePassage: Cyber Plague to young adult sci-fi lovers.
