Stepping Up is a work of fiction in the family drama genre and is the third installment in the Sisters in a Small Town series. It is suitable for all ages and was penned by Holly Kerr. The book continues the saga of the Skatt sisters, in particular Kayleigh who has offered to act as a surrogate for her younger sister. It’s only after making the commitment that the long-term implications on Kayleigh’s life start to become apparent. On top of this, their destructive sister Dory has returned with a promise of change, but can she be trusted to deliver it?
Stepping Up is a highly engaging novel, focusing on the lives of the Skatt sisters. One of the things that I enjoyed the most about this story was how realistic, dynamic, and well thought out the relationships between the sisters were. I found the plot to be immersive and interesting and felt the author did a masterful job of portraying the family dynamic in that despite the ups and downs these characters face with each other, they are there for one another when it counts. Author Holly Kerr does a wonderful job of showing and describing the emotions the characters are feeling, which will make you feel like you are on the journey with the sisters. I would not hesitate to recommend this novel to fans of stories about the family dynamic, and those that are looking for a heart-warming read that you’ll find hard to put down.
