“There’s a term we use in the medical field called ‘Stockholm Syndrome’. In simplest terms it’s when hostages express empathy and sympathy towards their captors.” In the heart of this story lies the mystery of passion, raw and carnal. A strange case of kidnapping leaves the victim free, returning to her family. But the wealth of the family and the expert psychiatrist won’t help her find peace, so Sukhi Rai, the beautiful young woman who has escaped from her kidnapper must find out the facts herself, and in her own way. She begins to investigate her kidnapper, but little does she know that the truth could destroy her and cause suffering for those she loves: her family isn’t what it seems to be. Stockholm Ransom by SK Vall is a masterpiece that brilliantly combines romance, murder, and investigation, a thrilling story that will have thriller fans riveted.
What I first noticed about this gripping tale is the captivating, seductive writing. SK Vall’s prose is very enjoyable, a work of beauty in itself, featuring short sentences that are very descriptive in nature. The writing also features compelling conversations that help to deepen character development and plot. The dialogues read naturally, and they make the story feel true. Stockholm Ransom is a novel with an intriguing plot, which travels the meandering, complex road filled with romance and conflict. It is interesting to see how the author weaves elements of a psychological thriller and romance into the story. The author shows great skill in character development, and readers will love to follow Sukhi Rai. The read is absorbing, the characters memorable, and the plot riveting.
