I truly enjoyed reading Stories in the Stars: Astrology, Constellations and Zodiac Signs. This is an interesting mythological storybook about the origins of astrology and how it has been used throughout the centuries. The author, Lauren Martin, has made this book easy to read and comprehend so that children will be able to understand it as easily as an adult can. I love how the illustrations add lovely visual cues that kept me interested in what the author was conveying without being overdone or confusing. If you’re in the mood for a delightful book that will teach you something new about nature in a fun and imaginative way, this is a great book to check out.
The most interesting thing about Stories in the Stars is how the author examines the ideas of astrology and the zodiac by breaking them down into the individual signs such as Aries, Pisces, Cancer, Gemini, and Capricorn, and then explains how each sign works in the Zodiac. I really enjoyed learning how people in ancient times discovered the movement of the stars and how humans are connected to the movement of the universe by being a part of nature. Overall, this is a fun book to read that teaches you about the ways we are connected to the stars, the constellations they make, and the Zodiac signs associated with them. I especially loved the short fairy tales about each sign that will definitely keep a child’s attention, too. I look forward to reading more from this author.
