Suzie-Que and Pepperanne: The Mouseguest is a book from a series called The Tales of Suzie-Que and Pepperanne, written by S. F. Heskin. The story starts with Suzie-Que, a young girl who loves to have tea with her best friend, Pepperanne the cat. During tea time, they would talk about their adventures of the day. One day, while having their daily tea session, Suzie-Que found a rude intruder within the house! Over time, the intruder engaged in odd activities that kept Suzie-Que and Pepperanne scratching their heads in confusion. Join Suzie-Que and Pepperanne as they uncover the identity of this eccentric intruder.
Suzie-Que and Pepperanne: The Mouseguest is truly a one-of-a-kind storybook that left a lasting impression on me. I thoroughly enjoyed the funny and interesting rhymes throughout the entire story that flowed seamlessly. The style of writing that S. F. Heskin adopted for this tale is unique and fitting to the world of Suzie-Que and Pepperanne. I also found the Victorian setting of this storybook’s world to be highly intriguing, which kept me wanting more. I really liked the beautiful illustrations done by S. F. Heskin, which complemented the storyline very well. The muted colors used, along with the style of sketches, were very aesthetic and beautifully done, and reflected the Victorian feel extremely well. After each page, I was looking forward to seeing the illustrations. I would highly recommend this book to children and adults for its gorgeous rhymes and graphics.
