Tartan and Thyme by Zoe Tasia is book 3 in The Shrouded Isle series. Becca Shaw is loving her life on a magical island, but it also scares her. She’s happy with Greg, and she’s steadily making friends while her daughters grow up. But things aren’t all roses—there's an army of changelings under the control of a wicked fae queen on the island, and they’re causing a lot of problems. While she’s dealing with that, she has to deal with her ex-brother-in-law's business and get to grips with being a mom of two teens. She won’t let the scary parts bring her down, but can she really make it all work?
I read Tartan & Thyme by Zoe Tasia as a standalone, and although I found it very easy to follow, I do feel it should be read as part of the whole series. This book has a real mix of everything needed in an enjoyable story — lots of magic and mystery, and some romance thrown in for good measure. The characters are amazing, such fun to get to know and all totally likable, while the descriptive nature of the writing lands you right in the story, truly feeling like you are there on that island. This is an engaging story, a magical adventure with a cool female lead, just the right amount of sass, and enough twists and turns to keep you turning those pages. If you love cozy stories with a large dose of the paranormal, you’ll love this book.
